Penticton Church of the Nazarene

Hearing children praise God can be a powerful experience.

Children are welcome and an important part of our family beginning with  newborns as a staffed and fully equipped nursery is available during the Sunday morning service.  Pastor Jamie shares simple yet powerful lessons with the children during Kidzone time in the Sunday morning service.  Sunday mornings also has Son Beams for pre-schoolers and Children's Church for children from grade 1 to 5 to attend during the service.  Awana is a mid-week activity that runs from September to April on Tuesday evenings starting at 6:30 pm for children from ages 6 to 12.

The Penticton Church of the Nazarene recognizes that children are important to the future of our church and to society as a whole.  Children are like little sponges and soak up both good and bad information and habits.  It is our prayer that we will feed the children on God's word, show them God's love, and provide a safe environment as they learn to love God.

Show Them Jesus
Even young children should be shown the power and love of God.

Preschoolers can be difficult to teach. A lesson plan often has to go out the window when it becomes apparent the children stopped paying attention a long time ago. The temptation can then be to throw your hands up, and decide to simply keep the children occupied, without any real spiritual formation. However, with the proper teaching methods, young children are able to understand simple truths about God that lay the groundwork for future teaching.

By involving children directly in the lesson, or using an active example to explain the lesson, preschoolers can understand simple concepts. Not only this, but the lives we live everyday and the ways we interact with the children can be living demonstrations of God’s love.
