Have you wondered about young adults and their faith?

Our modern culture often breeds isolation. Electronic technology facilitates communication without face-to-face conversations. Email, text-messaging, instant messaging, and Facebook and other networking sites allow us to talk with others without ever hearing their voices. Some think this is a good method since they can reply as time allows or it fits into their schedules.

But that is not how God intended for us to live. Christianity is relationship-based. Jesus Christ came to earth to interact with people. When people accept Jesus Christ as Savior, they begin a relationship that transforms their lives. That transformation extends to family, friends, and the surrounding community.

Relationships are a high priority for many young adults. They often look for qualified mentors as they begin careers, establish their own homes, and build marriages.  Young adults are doers. They are people who respond quickly to action. They would rather participate in service than talk about it.

Relationships and action are key focuses for young adults. Opportunities for new experiences and active participation is far more attractive than passive forms of involvement. Young adults seize church opportunities that enable them to make a difference in the world.

An important key is the sense of community and for young adults it is often crucial to feel a sense of belonging and connection to the church body.  Young adults don't want to be told that God loves them, they want to experience God's love. That they want to be in situations where their involvement really affects another person touches on the passion of ministry.
